42nd Annual GreenThumb Harvest Fair

Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Village Community Garden

All day activities

• Tabling: Many organizations will be on site to answer questions and share information including NYC Compost Project - LES Ecology Center, Manhattan Community Board 11, NYC Parks Wildlife, Happy Healthy Latina, Pleasant Village Community Garden, and Trees New York.

• The Warmest Years on Record: Artist Rachel Garber Cole will collect audio-recorded stories about people's emotional, psychological and sensorial experiences of the climate crisis. 

• Daffodil bulb giveaway: Free distribution of bulbs courtesy of New Yorkers for Parks Daffodil Project (limited availability). 

• Arts and crafts: NYC Parks Manhattan Recreation will provide activities for the whole family. 

• Music: DJ Isiah Forde will play family friendly music on the stage. 

 

11:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Microgreens Workshop: GreenThumb Outreach Coordinators will teach you how to grow micro-greens on your windowsill (inside the garden). 

12:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Tea Arts and Culture: Join a tasting journey with the nonprofit organization, Tea Arts and Culture, to explore teas from different origins around the world (inside the garden). 

 

12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Cooking Demonstration: Chef Yadira Garcia of Happy Healthy Latina will demonstrate a nutritious and delicious educational experience for all ages (on stage).

12:45 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. 
GreenThumb Trivia: How well do you know GreenThumb? Test your knowledge about community gardens for a chance to win prizes (on stage).

Harvest Fair Contest winners: Announcement of the community gardeners that submitted their winning vegetables and flowers virtually (on stage).
